Ten years older, but still the same old crazy crew…

It may have been 10yrs, but our South Meck ties were still going strong on Saturday night! We had a great turn out–though those that weren’t able to attend were missed. We talked, drank, and danced the night away–and some of us will even be able to remember it! But the party didn’t end there! Some stayed for bowling while others took the party uptown.

The Quotes from My Third Graders read at the Reunion
In twenty years when I have graduated and I am grown up…
“I will be a scientist. I will have a hover craft or a convertible, or a convertible hovercraft with a booster rocket.” – Alex, age 8
“I’m going to get out of this old stump and go somewhere I’ve never been before. But when I’m young I’ll climb lots of trees.” – Luke, age 8
“I want to be a dentist so I will get 25,000 thousand dollars a month. I will be rich and famous and have lots of friends. I will visit my mom and dad every month. I will buy a sports car.”
- Reed, age 8
“I will have a car and a cellphone. I will live with my mom and dad.” – Connor, age 8
“I think cars will fly. Our cars will be powered by the sun.” - Kelsey, age 8
“I will have a really cool cellphone.” – Madison, age 8
“There will probably be so much technology that we won’t even be using paper by then. Hopefully they will have teleporters. There will be something that can make you younger. What if they had something so you could clone yourself?” – Kellen, age 8
“People won’t have to work, robots will. Everything will be FREE!” – Peter, age 8
“I would want to be friends with my friends I have now.” – Andrew, age 8
“I will be 6 feet 3 inches.” – Jack Cook
And the student who internalized my lessons on global warming a little too vigorously…
“The world will be flooded and we will live underground. Cars will float in the air. Pins will do your homework for you. Everything is mad. Pets could talk. My teacher will give us candy (notice she puts this next to pets could talk – equally bizarre events in reality). I will be so famous. I will have a cute boyfriend.” – Kelly, age 8

Despite the pouring rain and traffic, a few gathered for the South Meck vs Harding football game. The Sabres seem to have a strong team this year! And some things never change–the cheerleaders were still cheering for offense during defense!

After receiving a lot of interest in coordinating transportation from uptown to Dave & Busters, the Reunion Committee is reinvestigating the possibility of a shuttle or bus!
